The fact that the course is NFL themed for the Dallas Cowboys adds an extra layer of fun and excitement for fans of the team. The rolling hills and secluded atmosphere make for a serene and peaceful golfing experience. The challenging course design, with difficult greens and pin positions, offers a great test of skill for golfers of all levels. The greens were large, undulated, fast and had tough pin positions – making them extremely difficult.
The dramatic elevation changes on some holes make for an exciting and enjoyable round of golf, while the large and undulated greens present a unique challenge that will test even the most experienced golfer’s abilities. The course’s excellent condition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff, who clearly take pride in maintaining this beautiful track.
The halfway house with its great options for food and drink is a nice touch that adds to the overall experience. Greens fees are high but it does include the range and all food/drink throughout the day.
The big negative for me was the pace of play. I played on a Saturday afternoon, which I know is a popular time, but the course was stacked up pretty badly. I had to leave early for what would have been a 6-hour round. I had dinner reservations so I left after the 13th hole which was 4 hours into the round. Based on this, the course would be a great option for a bachelor party or golf trip.
Overall, Cowboys Golf Club is a beautiful golf course that is definitely worth a visit, especially for fans of the Dallas Cowboys. However, be prepared for a potentially long round of golf and plan accordingly.
