Waterchase Golf Club is a challenging course with an interesting layout. The combination of links and parkland styles, along with numerous water hazards, makes for an engaging round. I thought it was a pretty challenging course, with the gold tees playing 6882 yards and a slope of 132. The fact that none of the five par 5’s were reachable in two shots took away from the fun for me. The split fairways were also somewhat disappointing, as there was often an obvious choice of which fairway to take with the other option not making much sense at all.
The lack of guidance on the course may make it difficult for first-time players, and having someone who knows the layout would be beneficial. There were a ton of water hazards throughout the course – I guess that’s where the name comes from. The clubhouse was small and nothing special but did have a selection of gear, as well as food and drinks.
Overall, Waterchase Golf Club is a solid course that provides a positive experience, but not a course I would drive too far out of the way for.
